The Texas Bar Journal is paid for by the dues of Texas' 92,210 attorneys. Its is mandatory in Texas to be a bar member.
Each year the Journal has a question and answer forum for the candidates running for bar president. This year one of the candidates when asked which legal accomplishment he was most proud of -included a legal decision he won against the bar qualifying him for the ballot. After the answer the Bar Journal Editors -not attorneys gave their own version of the case without consulting the candidate.
A private newspaper might be able to do this but is this fair and ethical here?
