Easter island
Beside this great ocean, is a region where no one ever passes. A place filled with mystery, tradition, and thousands of years of isolation, created this amazing island with its people “Easter Island”. This island is located in South America but totally disconnected from the other regions. This island is filled with mysteries, how did the people come here, where were they from, and how did they survive in this harsh island. The people here are hard workers who survived thousands of years of storms, hurricanes, volcano eruptions, and droughts.
Culture and tradition thrived but almost lost in time, their ancient languages are forgotten and now the caves with its carvings can’t be read and will forever become a mystery. The most mysterious thing in this island is The “Easter island Heads”. Ten to fifteen feet tall five tons these massive stone have been carved in the mountain side and moved by the indigenous people. The way it was moved is still mind boggling for the archeologist.
Theories were made throughout the decades, the first theory was planks of wood were laid on the ground and carried the statues by dragging it. The last theory was made in 1998 by Jo Anne Tilburg, they laid the thirteen foot and five ton replica by using the ancient way the Polynesians move there canoes.
The are other theories made to explain how this people came here, it was believed that in the past the island was connected with south America but tectonic plates moved the island and its people farther and farther away from its old home. Easter Island is an amazing place, its people, culture, and traditions are filled with mist that attracts tourist visitors and common travelers as this place is unforgettable and a magical place to be. This island teaches you to be strong, brave and to be a hard worker. These people had nothing, only wood stone and no technology but still they marked themselves in history. With these mysteries people today are making theories that could improved today’s modern era. I will always remember this island to encourage me to continue in my life so i can be remembered in history.
