The son of Rupert Murdoch, who owns several big-name newspapers, says that the BBC dominate journalism too much. Thoughts on this would be interesting. Does he have a point, or is it a case of double standards? news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8227915.stm

Im not very read on British tabloids or how much of a monoply they have on the "market". But going of the exposure we do have to such things, BBC is about the only news media outlet from England we hear about. The Sun gets an odd mention, but its usually everyone laughing at them. So i would say they have a high percentege of the market, but i dont think they dominate it. They didnt get this way by pushing out competion, this way by telling it like it is.

Just because the BBC are the biggest name in journalism doesn't mean that they are blocking out the other outlets. He just seems to be bitter about the fact that newspaper sales in general are down.

And thats really just because the internet is becoming a more popluar source when looking for news.

Exactly. It's simply because the BBC news website is one of the stronger contenders.
